The Canonteign Labyrinth, Canonteign Falls, in Devon had its official opening ceremony in glorious sunshine on Tuesday 9 August.
Simon Willmott has worked closely with the clients, Kate & Chris Baylis, who commissioned Adrian Fisher, the World’s leading maze designer, to create this labyrinth to mark their 60th birthdays. The Canonteign Labyrinth is a contemplative journey, a single route with twists and turns, with quotes personal to the clients.
We supplied pur Purbeck Thornback paving for the seven paved rings and inset the 13 brass plaques at our production facility in Purbeck - it required precision and detail to process the stone to the exact requirements for the design. The Labyrinth also featured a polished stainless steel mirror disc, Torus, by David Harber.
The hot, dry weather has left the grass brown but give it a few months and rain, the green grass will add the final touches.
