York Guild Hall has undergone extensive restoration work; the historic Guildhall building has been restored and redeveloped for the 21st century. It has been a seat of civic governance in York since the 1200s and contains a collection of Grade I, II* and II listed buildings built around the 15th century hall and riverside meeting room.

We supplied our British Jurassic Malt internal flooring with bespoke Purbeck Grub inlays for the main hall in the Guildhall.

From Lincolnshire, Jurassic Malt limestone exhibits interesting tiny fossilised shell detail. Available in a warm beige to brown colour or two-tone with blue inclusions. We process large blocks of Jurassic Malt so internal flooring is available in larger unit sizes than we are able to offer in the Purbeck beds. It's a perfect choice for ecclesiastical or domestic projects.

Purbeck Grub is a very hard wearing Purbeck limestone and one of the most interesting beds we quarry due to its tonal variation from blues and greys to browns. This beautiful bed is full of shells making it very striking. No two finished tiles are ever the same; making it truly unique. Limited amounts are quarried each year making it a rare and exclusive stone.
