Shore House, Swanage, is a high-end retirement complex built by Ortus Homes, which is situated on the coast road overlooking Swanage bay and the English Channel.

We supplied 95 tonnes of Purbeck White Buff Guillotine Cut building stone from Downs Quarry, located less than 3 miles from this development. Ortus Homes selected our stone as they wanted a local stone and one which was suitable for a coastal loaction. Purbeck Stone is a durable and hard-wearing natural stone, which made it the ideal choice for this stunning development.

Purbeck White Buff is our unique blend of several of the Purbeck Freestones quarried from our Down’s quarry in Swanage. The beds used are all light buffs and creams in colour with the occasional darker piece which adds to its character. Whilst Purbeck White Buff offers a rustic feel it also works well on contemporary schemes. Like all of our Purbeck building stone our White Buff stone blend is a very durable and hard wearing, making it perfect for both new builds and restoration work
